Rock8 Science is an Australian company that collects, processes and analyses data on healthcare professionals (HCPs) on behalf of our life sciences clients.

Accurate data on healthcare professionals is important to life sciences for a number of reasons, including to help bring new medicines to market to improve patient outcomes, to lower healthcare costs and to enable efficient and effective communication to healthcare professionals across a number of media channels.

 

 What data do we collect or process?

 If you fill in a contact form, the name, email you provide us will be stored together with your request.

B) Data we collect and process for our clients

 All data we collect and process on behalf of our clients is solely for the limited purposes described below and for the limited time of duration of the analysis.

 The data we process for our clients are work related (as a healthcare professional) that are already public records such as: name, position, working place, type of healthcare institution, professional qualifications, academic publications, and educational specialty. We only collect data openly publicly searchable and easily accessible.

 We do not collect nor process personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, information regarding a person’s sex life or sexual orientation or criminal record; nor health data, genetic data or biometric data.

 We do not collect nor process data on online identifiers provided via your devices, applications, tools and protocols, such as IP addresses, cookie identifiers or other identifiers such as radio frequency identification tags unless you have given explicit consent to have these data collected and used for profiling.

The online data we collect related to healthcare professionals are publicly searchable on existing websites such as directories, conferences, publications, medical or social media.

Rock8 Science collects and processes Healthcare professionals’ data for profiling purposes. Those profiles and insights are provided to our clients as a result of our services and are limited in its use by our clients as per below:

Our clients may use the insights we derive for them solely for their legitimate business purposes, for example helping ensure patients receive the right medicines for their disease or condition, to help bring new medicines to market, to improve patient outcomes, lower their costs or so they can better understand and communicate with you.

All insights we supply to our clients must not be used in any way that risks your rights and freedoms or lead to physical, material or non-material damage, give rise to discrimination, identity theft or fraud, financial loss, damage to the reputation, or any other significant economic or social disadvantage.

Our clients must respect your rights not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing where it produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you. We bind our clients to the above terms and conditions of use.

 

How do we store your data?

Rock8 Science has implemented Technical Security and Organisational Measures providing appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect the Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration and against unauthorised disclosure, abuse or other processing in violation of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

A) Data collected from our website

The data we collect from our website (via contact form) is hosted in Australia indefinitely unless you email us on admin@rock8science.com and request us to delete it.

B) Data we collect and process for our clients

The data that Rock8 Science processes and collects is hosted in Australia for the limited duration of the project.

As Rock8 Science does not store historical healthcare professional’s data, any update or correction performed at the data origin will be reflected in the data we collect and process at that time.

The data we collect and process is returned to the client and erased from our servers 90 days after processing is completed. In total, dependent on complexity of processing, first data receival to its erasure will typically happen within a 120 day timespan.

 

Data related to health care professionals in the EU:

Before receiving client data from EU members, Rock8 Science instructs Clients that EU Commission approved standard contractual clauses need to be in place to adequately protect the data prior to its transfer to Rock8 Science’s servers, located in Australia.

Upon service delivery, Rock8 Science instructs Clients that the resulting data must be hosted within EU, or, if data is to be transferred to a country that is not subject to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission, data is adequately protected by EU Commission approved standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules or other legal requirements are in place that allows the transfer of data to countries outside the EU.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes unless you explicitly request us to do so.
